I agree also about emo, just not a fan of the pasty whiney types either... I also dislike a lot of new "rock", bad metal and pop-punk groups out there, new country, most rap... specific bands (and I am bound to offend somebody): Jimmy Eat World Creed Limp Bizkit Good Charlotte The Strokes 5ive Snow Papa Roach Nickelback Celine Dion Michael Bolton Rod Stewart Kenny G 98 Degrees Goo Goo Dolls Ace of base Hootie and the Blowfish Matchbox 20 Hanson Jennifer Lopez Boston Chicago Godsmack Korn Oasis Shania Twain Billy Ray Cyrus Disturbed Whitney Houston Sugar Ray Doobie Brothers I'll probably think of more... I could go on forever.

I just don't find that type of music appealing - actually, it gets on my nerves. Musical talent does not equal appealing music, at least not to me. And song-writing talent is completely subjective, so there's no point arguing it. If you like the songs that someone writes, then fine, that's your call. But I think it's silly to argue that a band is good or bad based solely on how well they play their instruments. Same thing with Dar Williams: if you dig her stuff, that's cool. Her music is too hippie-ish for my tastes. *Back in the saddle!*

This is one of those opinion things. If you don't like rap, I doubt Eminem and 50cent are at the top of your favorite list. Kind of like Coke and Pepsi... which is better... and the answer is.... whatever you like more!! I know a girl who LOVES coke (no joke, she drinks about 2 litres a day of the stuff), but she cannot stand pepsi in the LEAST!!

That is not to say that I would listen to them; rather, that, despite they are not of my musical preferrence, they are not "terrible".
