I found some old video tapes i had..i been looking all over for them, well at last i found them
It's the movie "Dasboot".
I would never,never go in a submarine..
Yes iam afraid of drowning, almost went bad one time and that was a close call.
I think the marines (submarines)the guys must have nerves of steel.

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

My #1 fear is of being violated again. I would literally die and/or kill before I let it happen to either myself or someone close to me. I can agree with the fear of creepy people, but having been there and knowing what kind of things people are capable of perpetrating against one another, I am FAR more afraid of the outcome of a run-in like that than the people themselves. Actually, I would say that I don't really fear individuals themselves at all.

As a survivor I have made a pledge to myself, "Never Again." and that counts for myself and my family and friends. I think it's important for there to be some good that comes out of the negative experiences I've had, and for me that is going to be in educating and counselling others to do whatever I can to prevent people around me from going through what I have.

I am also deathly afraid of not being in control of my own decisions, body and independence. Once that is stripped from you it isn't something you forget.

I am extremely afraid of inadvertently harming other people. I know I would never do it intentionally but I still fear that maybe I have learned to harm others from one of the best at it. I know it's kind of an irrational fear but it is said a lot that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," and that really gets to me. I want to have my own family one day but it is very scary. I'm afraid I won't be able to protect my own children or that I would hurt them unintentionally.

I have done a lot of counselling volunteer work and am working through a degree in psychology so that I'll be able to help others, but in doing this I have also seen the alarming statistics. So many people that have been abused end up becoming perpetrators, end up in abusive relationships as adults, turn to drugs when they can't cope, and continue perpetuate the cycle of abuse themselves. I don't want to be a part of those statistics.

I am afraid that I'll never get back to work and will never be able to support myself. I guess that is really just another aspect of a loss of independence....

I have random fears, spiders and insects give me the creeps but they are not nearly as threatening as the things I have already mentioned.

Nightmares! I am also not good with heights, but I am getting better about it. Drowning is one as well, but I worked myself past that to snorkel in Cozumel in 25 foot deep water for an hour. Took me a second to work my way into the ocean, but once I was there and had myself calmed down, I was fine. One day I plan on skydiving to work past the heights issue.

EDIT: LOL! I was there for kitten's chat episode, and I know how ewwwwwwwwwwwwww it really was! *shudders* NASTY! On the lines of bugs, cockroaches give me the creepy crawlies, but I can handle tarantulas without an issue.

I'm with Calla - I hate getting that creepy feeling about a person, especially if it's nighttime and you're on a train or walking somewhere. It's even worse when you get that feeling about a friend - that something's just not right in their behavior.

Other than that, I would have to say that cars scare me the most. I don't drive, I can't sit in the drivers seat of a car without feeling panicky, I have trouble relaxing when I'm in a car and watch EVERYTHING, fully expecting to have an accident at any second. There's no mystery behind this, I was involved in a huge accident a few years ago (no-one was hurt fortunately, but the car I was in went over a steep embankment and was only stopped from falling down to the road below by thudding into a tree).

Oh, and now I'm TERRIFIED of crossing roads too. It was a horrible thing to realise that you can do the right thing and follow all the safety measures - crossing only at pedestrian crossings - but if someone else doesn't follow the rules, it can still be you who suffers the consequences.

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde

Wandering spiders are not common in North Carolina, if they are present at all. However, you still do have black widow spiders to worry about, and several species of venomous snakes.

Oh, and some of the world's biggest cockroaches.

I'm not scared of ants any more, Lori. It was only the day I posted.
I was trying to catch some Ramphotyphlops Ligatus (which involves digging up bull ant nests).

I cam vouch for Heidi's total panic at any spider. Going home at night during tarantula breeding season could be a nightmare. You couldn't help not hitting them on the road. Mine is rattlesnakes....gives me the heebee jeebees.

The thought of something happening to one of my children. My son is in the navy, 3000 miles from home, and the thought of him needing me....well it scares me.

LB made me think of mine...

Stasis.

There is some good in stability, but if my life were to remain exactly the way it is currently I just couldn't handle it. It's already been this way too long already.

Well talking about animals..the spiders scares me...especially the big ones.
One day we rented a flat to spend over weekend, the first thing i noticed when we got to the door was that huge spider on the light above the door.he must have been at least 5-8cm,looked a lot like a tarantella...i didn't sleep at all that night, just thinking of that spider maybe coming up on my bed...
I like snakes..they are nice.
