Brim,

you should provide a brief description of your tank and its parameters. That is, lighting hours, watts of light, size of tank, GH, KH, PH and temperature as well as how often you change water and clean the filter. It would also help to describe the algae. Is it blue-green or bright green, is it stringy or slimy...

The more information, the better the answers will be!

I'm with Bob. Please tell us a little bit more about your tank.

The thing that would come to my mind first would be to reduce the amount of time you keep your lights on, and feed less.

There are many types of fish that love to eat algae, and some inverts as well. The size of your tank obviously determines what you can keep, but otos and smaller plecs like the BN, clown and pitbull come to mind to me right away. Some apple snails or algae eating shrimp are other choices.
