Has anyone heard of these for use in fishkeeping? I've read that they are good at lowering ph and can be used as a tonic to aid fish that have bacterial or fungal problems.

The only time I've heard of using them is when dealing with spawning bettas.

Thia breeders keep them in the tank/pond when breeding, it gives the guy a place to put his bubble nest, and then a lot of them soak them in the damaged females tank after spawning.

some of my friends have used them to clear up stubborn finrot.

not sure what they have in them, but they are pretty good for bettas imo, and they really do bring on spawning!

Indian Almond, or Katapang i think they are called.

they do tint the water and lower the pH, but they are the expensive option for this, why not use oak or banana leaves? (dried of course). Banana has the added benefit of making the water thick with gums which helps bubblenests stay together well but thats of no concern if you have no bubblenesters

I didn't know oak leaves will have the same effect! Will try that one then since there are loads of them over here.

Thanks!
