*does a dance for NIC*

The question is
what everyone has used that actually produces visible results and that has worked for them.
and I've used NIC as a starter for all my tanks and it's helped speed things along everytime, we cannot get Bio-Spira here but I really don't care because the NIC does the job

By what I have learned, and then later thinking about it, Bio-Spira is the only one that really makes since to me. I have heard that a lot of people have had luck with other products, but Bio-Spira is the only one that makes sence to me.

This may sound odd as some of you know my qualms with bio-spira

My bio-spira cost about $15 for enough for 30 gallons, I think.

I know Bio Spira isn't available right now, but how much does it cost (USD) when it is?

Has worked very well for me. I have also tried other chems that are supposed to speed things up and they just do not work. This was of course before I found NI Cycle.

I don't think that any of the people who voted for NIC have even tried Bio-Spira. No one would choose NIC over Bio-Spira. Bio-Spira just works better. It isn't really a fair comparison when I'm sure many of these people have only used one of the products mentioned in the poll.

I like NIC, it won't cycle your tank immediately but it does reduce the length of it IME. I've never seen biospira in stores around here but i would like to give it a try.

I know some people that love N.I.C., and I've heard others talk about different additives ( bacterial starters, supplements, whatever) that have worked for them, so I was just wondering what everyone has used that actually produces visible results and that has worked for them.

I like Bio-Spira. It cycled my fully stocked 75 gallons immediately. I tested for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate daily for a month. After getting zero readings for ammonia and nitrite for that long I went back to my usual weekly testing. I know that not everyone experiences results like I did, but from talking with other hobbyist, I've notice their ammonia and nitrite spikes are not nearly as sever. Kudos to the researchers who spent years developing this product. Now if they can just do some gene modification to make the bacteria grow faster so it can be in production again!

I just cycle my aquarium naturally, or sometimes with zebra danio's that I plan on keeping in the aquarium.

I made my brother use NIC when he started his tanks. Seeing how he added all of his fish at one time(the day after the tank was setup), it had to be the NIC that kept his tanks from being a disaster. And he overstocked from the get-go as well: 8 danios, 1 betta, and 1 otto(in a 10 gallon) & 3 green cories, 3 peppered cories, 3 danios, and 1 clown pleco(also in a 10 gallon).
