Cycle and BioSpira are the two brand names we hear most often, but what about the store brand of bio additives. Big Al's has one, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a "generic" brand @my LFS's. Has anyone used them and with how much sucess? Or should I just stay on the super safe side and stick with Cycle (too hard for me to get biospira ).

^_^

Hi Bablefish,

Did you happen to compare the contents of all the bio additives? If all are the same, and form my experience most 'home brands' contain the same quantity of 'whatever' as the well known brand names then go for the cheapest I say.
The "Amtrite Down is an Aerobic Bacteria based product containing Nitrosomonas/Nitrobacters and Bacillus Species", quoted from the blurb, that's what I have used with very good results as far as cycling time goes.
