Posts: 9662 Kudos: 5261 Registered: 16-Sep-2001    | Alternatives are Nitrovec (Sera) and Cycle (Hagen) although testing done by some members shows that they are not quite as effective as BioSpira. I am unsure where you can get it at this point in time. Anyone? |

It must be kept cold until used, as it is live bacteria, and be sure to check the expiration date when you purchase it. There is always a bigger fish... |

It is usually not stored in the refrigerator in the stores. If I remember it correctly, the package says that you should store it cold once it is opened. Follow the instructions on the package if you plan to have a successful and fast cycling, and don’t expect a One-Day-Wonder as it is not going to happen. It will take a few days (4 to 6 would be my estimate). Ingo  |

The hundred mL bottle is usually around five dollars U.S., and the two-fifty bottle is about ten dollars. Prices will vary by store, but those are the average prices of the two most commonly-sold size containers. I also used Stability to help cycle my tank, and liked it. |
