If you recive the HOB filter that comes with the walmart kits as part of a used tank what are the draw backs to buying the few parts needed (i.e. berrings, wheel, bracket and if you so desire the new lid and for the 330 the media baskets??) I mean there case is exactly the same and the lid is the major differance. The wheel assembly may cost up to 28 dollars for the 330 but thats cheaper then purchasing it from what I can tell. I cant tell if there is any differnce in the motor assymbly so I do not know what the power of the off-brand motors is, but i have a hunch the only real differnce is the stuff printed on the main housing.

What is the general opinion

Dunno about the -general- opinion, but....
I bought a 330 used a few weeks ago, and I still can't figure out how to get it to work. >.<
I'm not a big fan of biowheels, anyway. *shrug* Even when I buy them used, they manage to break on me.
