I've been noticing recently that when adding black water expert to my tank it does not seem to dissolve properly anymore, instead about 1/2 of it dissolves then the rest forms browny stringy type structures that just sit on the bottom of the tank.

Does this product go out of date?

Ideal for creating conditions much like those found in the Amazon region of South America. It tints the water a light brown or yellow color and will improve fish color, encourage spawning and aid the hatching process. It contains naturally chelated iron, vitamins and other organic compounds that accelerate plant growth. One teaspoon (5 ml) treats 10 gallons (38 liters).

Product doesn't appear to have a shelf life (such as: Best if used by May 2112). Organic compounds and enzymes in solution may form "strings". Try shaking it vigorously to break the "strings" and to thoroughly mix the ingredients. You can also mix the dose in a container with tank water to eliminate the "strings".
