I accidentally got some chocolate shake into one of my tanks. I also just put in some new fishies. Water changes until the cloudiness goes away?

Yes, do a water change & see how it goes, if it's still clowdy, do another one tomorrow.

Did you add the fish and then the chocolate shake? I'm always confused on which goes in first!

Well i was putting two new mollies in my qt and eating a chocolate shake at the same time. One tried to escape and landed in te shake and i scooped him up. Unfortunately he was covered in shake when i put him in the tank.
I did a water change and now its a lot cleaner....

Chocquarium...I don't think it will catch on.

Don't tell us how it happened, it is far more interesting to just imagine... I am picturing a situation involving a ladder, a ringing phone, underwear riding up and an itch on your shoulder blade.

make sure in particular that you make sure scum is lifted from the surface of the tank , milk contains protiens and fats that will not only prevent oxygen exchange at the water surface by forming a film on the water surface, but also radically change the water chemistry rapidly as a result of a change in level of gaseous exchange.

i would do water changes in small amounts- possibly about a pint or two twice daily for a couple of weeks to help the filter, which will with a little help will eventually eat the dissolved protiens in the water. A denitrifying bag dropped in the water during this period may help, and prevent an algal bloom that could ensue despite the regular water changes.

a carbon filter might be a cood idea too.

I'd actually be more concerned for the molly that fell into the icy drink than the tank as a whole.
