What color is the cloudiness? White? Brown? Green?

I'm guessing it's some sort of algae then, because white cloudiness is caused by bacterial blooms, which usually only occur if the tank is cycling. I am not sure how to deal with an algae bloom, but I know many other members here have dealt with them.

Sounds like it could be an algae bloom, turn the light off for a few days and do several water changes. What type of filtration and lighting do you have, also do you have many live plants?

Feeding every day in small amounts is possibly better than one big feed every second day.

Medication could kill some of the beneficial bacteria, causing a mini-cycle and/or bacterial bloom. The last time I had cloudiness that persisted for over a month it was due to a bacterial bloom. Frequent water changes and blackout didn't work. I was finally able to get rid of it by adding a bacterial starter (Seachem Stability) to the tank. The cloudiness disappeared a few days later. HTH!

I am byno means an expert of any sorts but yesterday i went looking at a nearby LFS and saw "Bamboo Shrimp" and notice that they eat by filtering out the algae in the water. Lol maybe that could help possibly as they are cool looking too

Plecos won't eat floating algae. The only thing that will is filter feeders or very small fry and both are also difficult to keep alive/uneaten especially once the green water is gone. For my tank it took 5days to see a difference. I had greenwater so thick I couldn't see an inch into the tank and it was a bright lime green. Also if the tank is getting any sunlight or lots of room light it will take longer. A bright room will help keep the algae alive. Even just a few hours of sunlight in the morning can be enough to cause algae problems.

Hi,
One thing to be careful of... When blacking out a tank
to kill off green water, be careful and watch the tank.
If the water rapidly looses its green color the algae have
died off and the tank will rapidly become poluted. You will
need to immediately do a large water change (at least 50%)
and then another the next day.
