How long have you had the drift wood in there? Did you buy it at a store or get it outside? Did you soak the wood before you placed it in your tank? Answering these questions might help us shed some light on the cloudy water conditions.

Kid,

It sounds like you have an algae bloom in your tank. Generally a bloom occurs because of a nutrient imbalance combined with a strong light source.

You can bring the tank back into water parameters overa period of time by:
o Reducing available light to no more than 10 hours per day. If your tank receives light froma window, move it.
o Excellent tank maintenance. Be sure that your filter is clean and that you do not overfeed your fish. Step up your water changes to 50% per week, say 25% evry thrid day.
o If the conditions persist, black out your tank for 4 or 5 days. Place a blanket over the tank, do not peek, do not feed the fish. Of course, do a water change before you black out the tank.

Hi,
Green water can be eliminated. Here is a link specifically
about Green Water, its causes, and how to eliminate it:

Maybe you can leave the lights out for a week & don't feed your fish & then do a water change. The Green Water will go away & your tank will be visible again.

A new filter may help, cleaning the existing filter will help, adding carbon to the filter may help...

I like Aqua Clear filters but a clean filter is always better. Now go buy that Aqua Clear.
