Allright, the water in my fishtank is VERY cloudy.

It started about a week ago, and I did a Waterchange, but it didnt really help.

My tank has been up since august.

I heard that it is cloudy because like alot of bacteria is growing, but i have alot of fish in the tank, and i dont want them to die from the ammo/nitrite going up.. can i get any help?

Have you checked your ammonia and nitrate and nitrite? You should check that first before you worry. Sometimes when you do a water change, if you vac the gravel too much, or take too much water, your tank will go through a bacterial bloom. Another option that could be is you overfed. I had this problem with Wardley Shrimp Pellets. Couldnt figure out why my water was so cloudy until I saw a weather loach nab a shrimp pellet and PLOOOF a huge cloud in the water. I cut down feeding those to almost nothing now, and no more cloudy water.

Have you been doing some alterations to your tank lately.

Do a 10% water change evey three days and on that day no feeding at all. Cut your feeding amount in half. I would also add some Bio starter at the required specified amount each time you do the water change.

I use Sera nitrivec Biostarter at every water change and a double dose when I do the canister filter clean ever two months.

You might have to do this over several weeks. Then reduce your feeding at every food time.

IMO, a 2 month old tank is still new enough as to not rule out the possiblity of bacterial bloom, caused by excess waste. In such a case, you don't really have to do anything except bi-weekly 20% water changes and feedings every other day.

Acually, im going to cut my feedings 1/3.

This is mainly my schedule:

M-F they get fed in the morning and afternoon

Sat and sun - They only get fed in the afternoon

Well, M-F their gonna get fed only one time a day, and im going to cut the ammount i am feeding them in half.

I will try this for a week ans see how it goes. If it is a bacterial bloom, should I do water changes? Also, i wanted to get some new fish today, do you think i can add them, or will i have to wait??

my ammo is 0 and my nitrites are 0.1

I do have nitrates also, but i forget what they were.

Should i keep doing bi-weekly water changes, or should I not do a water change for a while??

I dont want the levels TOO high and kill my fish

It might be suspended algae. I had that problem for a little while, and I solved it by cutting back on feeding, having the lights on for less time each day, and changing the water. Usually water changes will help in these situations.

Thanks sir, but im going to wait, since this can be a bacteria bloom, or algae (although it probably isnt because my tank doesnt get much light)

Im going to monitor my nitrites, and see what's goin on, if they rise really high, then i will have to post back to get help.

I will post the progress to see what's goin on.
