Too much fish stress. I only do 2g a day in my 55g tank. Even if I put in near freezing water my heaters would barely come on. More water changes means more work ![]() |

I would ask the betta experts on the labryinth fish section, but you're going to want to do more than weekly water changes in a "tank" that small, especially if its unfiltered which I'm assuming it is. |

Since a gallon of water fouls real easy from waste and fish food I would suggest a water change every 48 hours in an unfiltered tank. --garyroland. |

There is one plant (non aquatic) that grows with it's roots submerged so it's not doing all that much for water quality, and I don't alter the Ph....however it's a 2 gallon (out of possible 6). I'm also running an airstone on the tank. I do believe that the general "rule" for anything 1 gallon or under is 100% changes daily if possible for the reasons that garyroland mentioned. ^_^ ![]() |

goldfisher![]() Hobbyist Posts: 96 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | Ok - so let me get this right. 100% water changes daily if possible as long as the water is exactly the same temp. Did i get that right ? anything i need to kno about the right way to go about doing water changes for a one gallon ? |
