G'day all
My fishtank has finished cycling and I have since added guppies, cardinals and a betta.
I bought some live brine shrimp from the LFS. The advise I got with it was to not add the brine shrimp water with my water, and there was no need to feed them as they already had a high protein diet.
So I used a tea strainer to feed them to my fish and an oily film now coers the entire tank surface.
Can this harm my fish?
I am running a fluval 304 in a 4ft tank.

G'day
I just noticed the (scum on the surface) thread after I wrote my problem. I will try the paper towel.
Regards Shark

Since you've got a cannister filter I'd suggest adding some surface agitation too, either powerhead or airstone. If you use the papertowel you'll just have to do it daily, whereas the surface agitation should take care of things for you .
HTH a bit.

I tried the paper towel it got rid of a lot.
But when i added an airstone it disappeared completely in 10-15 minutes.
Thanks Babelfish
