I currently have my Penguin 330 Bio Filter centered in my 40 gallon long tank. With the strainer 1 inch above the gravel.

I figured if the filter is in the middle of the tank, it will do a better job collecting waste throughout the tank. Rather than placing the filter to one side of the tank while the other side is collecting waste.

Is this a good setup? should I move the filter somewhere else?

Thanks in advance. :%)

I have my filter towards one side of the tank, not sure why come to think of it, it's just the way I've always set the tanks up:%)...however I also run powerheads on the tanks to help with water circulation, in one case I'm using the powerhead as a quick filter for additional mechanical filtration....dunno if that helps any :%)....

^_^

A Penquin 330 bio wheel filter may be a bit much on a 40 gallon tank...

I would suggest you move the filter to one end of the tank to allow your fish a calm place to rest.

Too much turbulance in a tank, never allowing fish to escape the constant motion of water, will cause stress for the tropicals and the resulting breakdown of their immune system to disease.

Never create a washing machine syndrome in your tanks.

Okay, I just moved my filter to the right next to the heater.

Thanks for the advice.
