I let the bio-balls from the filter dry out for 3-4 days. I put them in another filter in my 125g tonight. How long should I wait to let the ball populate and be able to sustain a 20g QT tank. But I hope you know that if youput them in the Qtank and there is no source of ammnia in that tank, the bacteria will die off again right? |

However, I think that a week for the bio-balls is the minimum period, two weeks may be better depending on the size and number of fish for your QT. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

Many things can lay dorment with just the moisture in their bodies. If possible can you boil the Bio Balls this will kill all the paracites. You should also add a Bio starter to introduce a new fresh bacteria into your tank other wise it go through a mini cycle I said could this could depend on the tank its self.
