hey,

recent;ly i added a live plant to a 10G tank thats the home of 3 platies.

now, i noticed 2 days ago that i was getting a little algae, the water was going green.

so i took out the plant and did a 50% water change,
but today it;s thicker than ever.. i can hardly see the heater at the back now.

can i fix this without meds? if so how ?

If anything, live plants use nutrients in the water, leaving less for alagae to live off of. These may be dumb questions and sorry I have to ask them, but how long do you leave your aquarium lights on? Is the aquarium in a place where it gets direct sunlight?

Turn your light off. Don't feed your fish. Clean your filter. Vacuum your substrate. Do daily 50% water changes for three or four days.
