I have the full nutrafin test kit, but unfortunatly all the intruction booklets have been ruined. |

The test tube is filled to the 5 ml line with the dropper, which is a nice addition, and five drops of reagents #1 and #2 are added. The tube is then stoppered and shaken for a few seconds which is where the problems began. Despite the admonition in the instructions to avoid skin contact with the chemicals this is basically impossible to achieve because the stopper provided is about as water tight as a sieve. Even pushing very firmly down on the stopper while giving the tube a gentle shake results in liquid being lost. In the end I wrapped the tube in tissue before shaking which at least caught the lost liquid. The next step is to add 3 drops of reagent #3 and shake again; this is a Cadmium compound so it is worth treating it with respect as Cadmium compounds can be highly toxic. In the kit I used reagent bottle #3 was a different design and required me to carefully pour three drops rather than invert the bottle and squeeze. The colour, if any, develops in 5 minutes."
