If you just want to rinse off some filter media such as sponges you should use dechlorinated water or water from the tank. You should also be adding a water conditioner or dechlorinator when you add water to the aquarium. That's assuming that like most places your water has chlorine added. |

It usually only has a usefulness of maybe 2-4 weeks at the most and then needs to be replaced as it has reached its absorbtion capacity. P.S. No apology necessary for your english. I'll bet there are not many using this site that have any fluency at all in chinese. In fact I would say that it's much better than many of the so called english speaking on the site. Also I have a question when I add new (white bag's rock<--forgot what it call and black bag's carbon) to my filter it always make the tank white as hell. Should I wash it before using? |

As there isn't any bacteria colony established at this point you can just rinse them in your tap water. |
