I would use about 20g per water change so I dont need a huge unit. Im keeping SA cichlids but my ph is about 8.3 and very hard. Would it be worth it to install one. |

Keep in mind that they are expensive units to purchase, operate, and maintain. The outlay for one unit is expensive, and it must be plumbed correctly to work right. Then consider that to make one gallon of RO water, you will put several gallons (depends upon the membrane and brand of unit) of water down the drain. It must be backflushed at regular intervals (read the owners manual), and the membrane must be replaced at regular intervals, again, read the owners manual as this interval depends upon the water it is treating, and the porosity of the membrane. That being said, it would work for you purposes. Frank ![]() -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |
