I use the "Arm & Hammer" brand. Just be sure that it is the unscented type. I'd bring the KH up between 3 & 5. With snails, they need Calcium (Ca) for their shells and that would come from water that was around the same values for GH as for KH. Bicarbonate of Soda is an ingredient of baking powder, but this also contains acidic cream of tartar, and I don't think you want this in your fish water..
