Hi,
ive just done a pH test, the pH is 7.6 but I ideally want it to be 7.0 or just under.
What is the safest way of reducing my pH level without stressing/harming my fish?

Hi,
I'm sure following posts will be asking you why you are
concerned about a 0.6 change in pH. It's really not
necessary for just about any fish.
However, that being said there are several easy ways.
One is chemical. There is a product on the market called
"pH down", likewise there is also a "pH up" product as well.
You can purchase this at nearly any Local Fish Store
(LFS) or, you can buy it in bulk from any pool supply store.

Another way is to add some peat moss (tied up in the toe
of a nylon or pantyhose) to the aquarium filter. Over time
the pH will lower.

Another way is to add some Distilled water to the tank to
"dilute" the pH.

I know its only 06, but its been gradually been creeping up since the start of this year and i dont want it getting any higher.
I have some golden rams and some cockatoo cichlids arrving this week and i know that they are timid fish so im trying to get the set-up perfect before they arrive.

You can also add driftwood.
