This could be the cause of your health problems old food and possibly fish waste. The whole tank will require a good cleaning and treating with the correct meds. The cleaner you describe is a long about 6ins clear tube with a thinner soft plastic coming from the top of the clear plastic tube? Once you answer that question the answer should be easy. So other than the one cory cat that I suspect is not eating ![]() ![]() |

The bucket must be lower than the water level of the tank, I use a kids chair. Keep your finger on the narrow end, fill the wider tube with water and raise it out of the water slightly, release the narrow end a bit until water starts to come out, stop the flow and lower the wider end into the tank again and fill it with water once again. When you release the narrow end the water should flow. Keep your finger near the drain end to control flow. If you do quick releases then stop and move the vac end you can get lot's of junk without loosing lots of water. The best thing to do is to just practice it over and over again. Hope this explanation made sense. They should come with videos. What I did was went into my lfs and bugged the lady to show me how. It all made sense after that. Once you do it you will completely understand how it works. http://www.firsttankguide.net/siphon.php Jim ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thin tube into bucket at floor level. Place tube into tank with finger on tube at bucket level. I then suck it through and carefull not to swallow any tank water. Simple but very easy. For my large tank as each bucket fills I lift the thin draining tube up and hold it down under the glass top. I hope this helps.
