i use a 40g rubber maid container. i have for a long time now. lately ive noticed a brown material in the water. i 1st noticed it on the bottom of the bucket so i assumed it was coming from the pipes, maybe rust. well i refilled the bucket last night and looked very close with a beaming flash light and saw nothing in the water. nothing was on the surface or suspended. this morning i look and the surface is coated with brown spots that resembles 400 yr old dust.

this container has a lock tight cover and is solid blue plastic. it sees NO light at all. any ideas what this brown stuff could be? rust doesnt float.

You got pretty heavy rain like we did, and are gearing up for more.. probably just sediment.
