brtaylor2000![]() Enthusiast Posts: 193 Kudos: 154 Votes: 0 Registered: 03-Sep-2004 ![]() ![]() | I have a 20g tank that had too much gravel in it. So I put the gravel in a platic bin with water that comes from wtaer changes. I want to hold on it it for when I cycle a future tank that i should be getting in a month or so. Im also thinking of holding my filter pads in there when i change them. Will this be enough for the bacteria to live on? Should I add any ammonia products in to keep the bacteria feasting? Should I get rid of it all together? I should be purchasing a 100 -150 gallon in febuary |

A working filter and pure ammonia, small amounts dosed periodically and tests performed, will sustain the bacteria. A nitrate reading will show bacteria are thriving. --garyroland. |
