my tank water is a white cloud. there are no large particles. It is a 20 gallon tank and i have done 9 gallons worth of water changes over the last week and it is still the same. It may evan be getting worse. i use an aquaclear 50 with 2 foams and bio max. i added carbon for a couple days but took it out because it didn't fix it.

do you have any idea what is the problem and how i can fix it.

How long has the tank been set up and running? Also what kind and how many fish do you have in it?

The tank has been up for about a year. I Know it is a little bit over stocked but i used to do weekly 2 gallon water changes until the cloud appeared.

I have 6 tigerbarbs 3 rosy barbs 1 rubber lipped pleco 1 small clown loach ( 2" ) 1 rainbow shark and 3 bamboo shrimp

Sounds to me like you may have a bacterial bloom. I haven't had to deal with one in years though, so I am probably not a good person to ask about treatment, although I think your tank may be a bit overstocked, depending on how big the rosy barbs and rainbow shark are.

does that happen if you screw up your bio filter. i recently removed carbon and added the second sponge. i probably killed to much bacteria. does this go away with time or is there a treatment

you should not stock as heavily, and do bigger water changes (at least 4 gallons, 5 or 6 would be great) as part of your weekly schedule and it will probably prevent it from happening again.

I doubt you messed up your bio filtration because bacteria don't really grow on the carbon much anyway. If anything, adding the extra sponge might help with it.

If you can, have the water tested for ammonia and nitrites. This will tell you if you have a bacterial bloom right off the bat.

Bacteria grows on any surface, but moreso on the filtration media because it's always getting a fresh influx of water and air, so it's the most favorable place to colonate. Bacteria DOES grow on carbon, but i doubt just changing it out for a spong would do it, unless you cleaned your other sponge or replaced it at the same time.

my nitrites and ammonia are at 0ppm and i think i caused it because i cleaned my whole filter when i removed the carbon.

I added some stresszyme today. i think it will help
