Does it matter when doing water changes, if the pH from the tap is different from the pH in the tank? My tanks pH is starting to drop and my pH from the tap is higher.

If there's not a big difference between the two that would change the tank Ph then all is well...

However, if the water change is large and the pH difference large and there's a chance of changing the tank Ph in the process, then there may be trouble.

Keep the partial water changes small and perhaps more frequent than doing a large water change all at once.

like gary said, if they are pretty close, you will be fine.

If your tank is 6.0, and your tap is 8 (most are that alkline) then you will stress your fish, and maby even shock them.
