why dos ph drop without putting in co2, peat, or driftwood.

Hi,
If the tank is recently filled, the water is degassing.
Getting rid of the trapped chlorine, CO2, and other
gasses. If this is happening in an established tank
with fish, and no water change, then the bacteria is
breaking down the fish waste, and one of the byproducts
is organic acids.
