betahex![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 864 Kudos: 352 Votes: 0 Registered: 11-Jul-2001 | i'm fully aware of how the cycle works but i've always wondered what would happen if i take a filter with a full colony of benefitial bacteria and used it to filter a NEWLY set up fish tank (assuming the filter is the correct size for the brand new tank)? . will i be able to add a full stock of fish right off the bat? Bacteria in a cycled tank isn't only present on the filter, but also the gravel, ornaments and tank walls itself. ^_^ ![]() |
