so i did 25% change the first day, nothing

High 200's !
Are you sure it's not your test kit that's off? Any live plants in the tank? What about the substrate, is it more than a few inches deep if it's not planted ?

200's just seem really really high to me.

^_^

Hi,
I replied to your post elsewhere. As Babel suggests,
take your water to a local LFS and have them test it.
That much of a water change (re: your other post)
should have changed the reading. Perhaps your reagents
are out of date, or have gone bad.

CO2 injection will not affect your nitrate.

BUT
If you were careless, or shall we say not real careful,
if any of that concoction got into the tank water then
all bets are off. It's one of the hazards of DIY CO2
generation.

Frank

well, i do have a check valve for the co2, everything else seems fine, just nitrate is skyrocketing. i even tested my tap water, its fine at zero, so its not even the tester.

and i do have plants, a lot of them actually, gravel is about 2.5 inches.
