Most generally water conditioners are pretty safe as long as you don't go overboard. I've also answered your post in the hospital forum. We do need more information though if you could please go into more detail. Last edited by Tammy at 04-Feb-2005 06:45 |

I don't remember exactly what happens, but I know you are supposed to be careful dosing. Like tammy said, what conditioner was it? -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

I've always over-guessed at the dose with no ill-effects I know of. -Dennis |

Constant chlorine and chloramine posioning can lead to chronic illness. Another thing to keep in mind is to be informed about if either chlorine or chloramine is being used to treat your tap water. I don't know with all conditioners, but with the aqua-plus you need to double the dosage if chloramine is present instead of chlorine. Or if the conditioner doesn't treat for both. |

Conditioners that treat for Chloramines also detoxify the ammonia and make it safe for your fish. |
