If I raise my pH with rocks or crushed coral, then when I do water changes how can I match the pH in the new water?

Hi,
If you are only making a 10 or 20% water change in
the tank, I would not worry about the difference.
It will naturally rise to the levels you want and
everything should be just fine.

That's good, I would be doing about 20% water changes weekly.

However, I'm talking about a 10g, so could that combination of pH difference cause the overall pH to drop too low?

My pH is currently 7.6 but I was thinking of adding some rock to raise it a bit for my l. ocellatus.

Hi,
What you might try is mixing crushed coral and crushed
oyster shells together as substrate. The combination
makes for an interesting "gravel."
