BeastKeeper Big Fish Posts: 444 Kudos: 389 Votes: 47 Registered: 27-Apr-2004   | my buddy put sand in his tank and let the tank cycle for 2 weeks then today he bought a black convict and texas cichlids. will the sand be okay with the cichlids? |

Jason_R_S       Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001  | the cichlids will be fine with sand. just warn your buddy know that texas cichlids get pretty big, and at a big size they can move quite a bit of sand around. especially if the texas were to get startled and stir up sand which could then get sucked into the filter. that's all I'd really be worried about.  |
