Care: Will eat almost any kind of food. Well-planted tank, but with open swimming areas. Brackish water is preferred, though not neccessary, for general well-being. If salt is added, put in one teaspoon of salt for every gallon of water.

Comments: One of the few native Asian cichlids. The common name was derived from the orange spots on the wild-type form, not the overall color of a golden type developed in aquaria. A blue form is also available.
