Temperament: Aggressive; Like most puffers they tend to tierlessly search the tank for food and will nip fins unless there is an over abundant supply of food. Will eat smaller fish
Diet: Carnivore; Feed Frozen and Live foods like bloodworms, shrimp, snails and other bugs and invertebra. Should be fed shelled food regularly like ghost shrimp to control the groth of the normal puffer beak.
Care: This species likes to live in river tanks with sandy bottoms that are well planted. They can eat plants if they think there is prey on them but usually only take small chunks. Adding salt to the tank will keep them healthier if they are in freshwater, and the temperature in the tank should be raised into the 80's with salt to help rid them of ich as they respond poorly to medications.
