Reason: | Addition of avian wormers as they would probably not fall under the heading of livestock for most. Also altered drug names to most accepted spelling to facilitate searching. Reference should be made to adjusting long term bath doses to oral doses, as with the stronger medications especially they would be different, however I'm not sure how to phrase it as it has to cover a wide range of drugs and applications. | ||
Old Text: | Internal wormers are the only effective treatment against Camallanus, but it is not uncommon for aquarists to have little success with these medications. The best medications to treat Camallanus are metrodizanole, prazinquental, acriflavine, and levamisole. These medications are found in a wide variety of aquarium internal parasite products. If the aquarium wormers do not work, livestock wormers containing the same medications may be used with caution. The medication will need to be ingested by the fish to be effective. Soaking flake or frozen foods in diluted medications is the best way to achieve this, but some fish will not accept medicated food (presumably it is distasteful). Diluting the medications more may help. Fish that are so badly infected that they will not eat at all and are emaciated are best destroyed to prevent the disease from spreading to other occupants of the tank. ----------- 22-Dec-2024 06:26:19 3.145.40.234 URL: /profiles/reviewedit.php?id=872 QS:id=872 Ref: /home/fishpro/public_html/lib/Diff.php(480) Call to undefined method Text_MappedDiff::Text_MappedDiff() #0 /home/fishpro/public_html/profiles/reviewedit.php(325): Diff->__construct('Internal wormer...', 'Internal wormer...') #1 {main} |
