A ten gallon doesn't have enough territory for a malawi, and just one fish in a tank is boring anyway! If he wants to have some other fish with it, then that person is either crazy, or doesn't know any better. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

I wouldn't put any of my Malawis in a ten gallon even as a hospital tank. Print out all of the replies from this post and show them to him. Hopefully you'll get more. Better yet, tell him to join FP.
