Hi..well you could add some of these...
1)Yellow labs
2)Pseudotropheus demasoni
3)Maylandia estherae
4)Aulonocara albino
5)Labidochromis caeruleus

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

male peacock mix with some other haps is my vote. Fronts would be cool too.
The best thing to do is go to the lfs and write down all the name of the fish you are interesting in. Then you will know what is available to you and then do research on net, books or ask here what will work if unsure.

Yeah Fronts are an option, the only bad thing is that they take up alot of the space if not all the space.

Openwater I'll take your advice and go to the LFS some time soon and see what they have and see what I like.

Also I'm starting to think that a hap tank would be pretty cool, What would you put in a hap tank? And also is it possible to keep Electric Yellows with haps?

Also thanks everyone for the replies.

So otherwords your saying it is possible to keep certain mbunas with haps.
In that case I might decide on a hap and mbuna tank.

I do know that I want to have a african cichlid setup but don't really know what to put in there besides electric yellows. So if you know any fish that would be a good adition to my tank please tell me.

There are plenty of rare and interesting Africans out there as well as Americans! It all depends on personal tastes I suppose . I'm an 'African Advocate' so I definitely recommend that you go with an african tank. Haps and/or peacocks are well suited to a 125gallon tank. I don't recommend keeping mbuna with them as their diets and aggression levels are quite different. However, electric yellows are the exception to this; they are more omnivorous than other mbuna and they are also comparitively more peaceful. So you could definitely have a group of electric yellows in with some haps and peacocks. I agree that the best thing to do is to see what's available to you and come back and research the fish you see and like best (keep in mind that the juvis at LFS's may look very different to how they will look as adults!). But don't limit yourself to just LFS's, find out if there are local cichlid breeders, aquariums clubs are a good resource for this. I don't think I've ever bought a cichlid at an LFS, I buy them much cheaper (and often healthier!) from breeders.

You can also look at photos of various african cichlids with the profiles on this site and at http://www.cichlid-forum.com/photogallery and see what catches your eye.

Where in Australia are you from? There are probably some people on here who live close by and who could point you to some local cichlid breeders. If you live in one of the cities that is!

just beginning, I live in Canberra. There's not really that many good LFS around here, one is really good but the rest are just normal.

I have a friend who knows a breeder, so I may be able to get a few uncommon fish for cheap.

This is not certain but I'm thinking of having about 8-10 electric yellows, about 4 electric blues (1male, 3females), 4 male peacocks (for show fish), and my friend has recomended a few black Altolamprologus calvus and 2 bottom feeders (don't really care what type).
I will probly add a few more unusual/rare fish as well.

I don't want to overstock the tank because i want it to be a breeding tank, but it's gonna still be kinda of a show tank.

Give me your opinion on this stocking list, whether I should add more fish, remove a certain fish, what type of bottomfeeders should i add etc.
