I'm currently changing the stock in my 29. I moved my con back in with the jd and got rid of the oscar. I am thinking about putting a pair of kribs, 4 upside down cats, and a school of 6 or 8 white clouds in the 29. Whats everyones thoughts on this? Will it work?

That sounds like a great tank to me. I really like all the fish you've chosen.

It sounds like it will work. However, white clouds prefer lower temperatures than the other fish do. If you choose to set up your tank that way, try to keep the temp around seventy-five. That way, it is close to the range of the white clouds, but not too cold for the other fish.

Thats what I was afraid of. I thought about that afterwards. What other fish has a similar look of a white cloud that can be kept at a higher temp with kribs and ud cats. I like to keep my tanks around 78 degrees as I have found the fish get less illnesses at that temperature.

I too keep all my trops at 78 You could pretty much pick any tetra you like to put it in its place, Glolite are a nice option. Or of course everyones favorite to own little neons. I myself have no neons or have never owned any strangely enough. GL

I went in a totally different direction from my original idea. I currently have 3 mollies and 3 ottos in the 29 but I am unsure of what else to add and what cichlid I can use as the focal point of the tank. I still like the kribs, but I have been thinking about rams or angels as well.

Kribs are nice but I'd be concerned about them becoming agressive if they breed. Keyholes are peaceful, or you could have a single angel.

If you can find them, Laetacara curviceps or L. dorsigera (see pic below) are a good size for a 29g and peaceful.

You can also check this link for more ideas.

After thinking and thinking about it, I have decided that this will not be a cichlid tank afterall. I am going to add some more mollies and leave it as is. I thank everyone who has offered up their opinion in an effort to help me.
