What are your water parameters (or are you willing to change your water to match certain fish)?

South American cichlids would include all the usual dwarfs (rams, bolivian rams, flag cichlids, golden eyed dwarfs, apistos), angelfish, keyhole cichlids.

Central American cichlids would be more limited - any archochentrus (convict, honduran red points, nanoletus, blue eyed cichlids), rainbow cichlids.

W. African dwarfs like kribs.

Tanganyikans - any shell dwellers, calvus pairs, brichardi complex pairs, leleupi pairs, any julidochromis (dwarf species best).

Malawian (not my area) - I've heard electric yellows will work.

I have a 29 gallon species only electric yellow tank. Right now I have 7 of them. 2 adults & 5 fry. If the two adults keep having fry I'll have to start bringing them in to a LFS.

Dwarf cichilds!!!

A nice community tank with rams or keyholes maybe? Lots of color and shape variations. There's lots of Tangs that would fit too, from the ever so tiny shelldweller up. PM Little Mousling about those guys.

Thanks for your input. I dont have anything in the tank yet except some clay and not even any water. I wanted to know what fish I could get before filling it up, cycling it and planting it.

My criteria:
Big/Largish Fish
Low Matinence.
