my 29 gallon tank is going to be the home of my green terror who is about 4" right now. She will be living with my cousin's pleco that is maybe about 5" or so. At what size will they need a bigger tank? Also, i've heard that the water here is very hard. Is that ok for these guys? will i be able to keep any other small fish in there with them while they are still growing?

The water would be okay, but you need to move those fish to a bigger tank as soon as you possibly can. Green terrors reach seven or eight inches, and plecos get to maybe twenty inches or so. I'd recommend maybe a 90 gallon for the both of them, fully grown.

Also, I wouldn't try any smaller fish. The green terror will either gobble them up, or just plain kill them.

Thanks, but i was already planning on moving them to a bigger tank when they get bigger. i just wanted to know at what size to do that. I'm pretty sure that she hasn't outgrown the 29g yet at her 4", so i suppose to be more specific, should i move her when she's at 6"? 7"?

Yeah, move them fast. Both fish get large, epecially the *common?* pleco, which exceeds 10+, sometimes even 12-13 inches in length housed in the home aquaria.

EDIT: spelling

well after all that stress, i guess i shouldn't keep them after all. I wasn't able to move my 55g tank up like i was really planning on, and i don't have the money to buy a new tank right now. I'm guessing the best thing to do now is try to part with my little baby fish! ={ she's been such a survivor and a fighter it's gonna kill me, but i really can't go buy a 90g since school is eating up all my moneys. Thanks for the help guys.
