I personally say it will work. I KNOW others will disagree strongly, reccomend a 100+ tank, but I will say its fine, as long as you have top of the line filters and keep the water very very clean with frequent water changes.

I'd go for a breeding pair personally. You'll definitely need top of the line filtration. Personally I'd go with 2 AC500's which is what I'm running on my 75. Also make sure you keep up with the water changes. I'd go for ~40-50% every week.

a pair would work but if they r not a pair (when adults) u will likely have trouble. 75 gallons will hold one mated pair fine.

Yep... two is fine if you are REALLY into maitaining your water quality. You'll need a decent canister filter like a Fluval 304 or 404 and some supplimentary filtration, like a very good power head or HOB. I use a Fluval 304 with a 350G/Hr power head, and do a 15% water change with a gravel vac once per week.

As for the pair... well maybe i just got lucky. I've had my guys together since they where 'pups', and they might have an 'arguement' once per week, if one is in a really bad mood. It's hard to sex them, so most people recommend you get about 8 and wait for them to pair. I only ever got the two i have... so i guess i was truely lucky. They are normally like best friends, sleeping together, swiming together, hunting together.. you gt the drift.

You might even want to consider bare bottoming your aquarium with just slate for them to breed. Use two powerheads on each end of the aquarium, with 2 AC500 or Penguin 330, if you choose the penguins, I'd add a canister, a 304 or 404 fluval or RXP2

A pair should work in a 75. I also agree that good water maintenance is a must.

Any thought on which kind you're going to get?
Red, Tiger, Albino?
My cousin has a pair of Albino in 80G. Awesome fish!
