I would go with a pair of blue acaras or jewel cichlids ![]() cfd ![]() -------------------------- Billy was a scientist, Billy is no more. For what he thought was H20, was H2SO4 |

And they can get very agressive so i wouldnt recomend them with rams, or blue acaras. Especially not key holes! The key whole would be a good idea. Or a single angel would work too. Along with rams which get along wiuth most anything. What else are you planning on keeping in this tank? Going to be a cichlid community? Or species tank? |

They are all very peaceful, come from the same continent, and prefer pretty much the same type of water. I think a tank with these fish would be pretty cool. |

Like other fish I've checked into in the past the varying amount of information about firemouth is amazing, and often times confusing. The majority of things I've read and people I've talked with say firemouth are peaceful except when spawning; I've rarely heard them called agressive or even territorial. But if 'peaceful' is true, I ended up with a firemouth who doesn't go by the books or profiles ![]() I was hoping to find something that wouldn't put up with his chasing...not necessarily overly agressive and start some fish war, but maybe that could put him in his place. Could be I'm hoping for something that doesn't exist. Thanks for the replies though, keep them coming ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Compared to many SA or West African cichlids, they're down right aggressive. Still, I like the CA attitude! Eric |
