Hi

Never had a cichlid setup before so need help, im torn between a tetra tank or a cichlid tank.

im gettin a 125 litre juweel rio this week and dont know what could actually go in it.

I would like live plants and already have some quite large gravel for it.

Would be pleased to hear any suggestions for a layout and fish

Cheers

My slightly overstocked 30g has a pair of kribs, an angel, black phantom tetras, 3 lined cories, dwarf loaches, and a BN plec. I just went from fake to live plants. I have black gravel, dark grey rocks & caves, amazon swords, and some floating plants.

yes they are realy easy to keep they need alot of rock work and you could get about 5 in a 30 gallon tank they are realy nice fish if you wanted to go tanganikan then you should look into shelldwellers they are easy to keep good luck remmember rock work they need hard alkalin water so if you have soft water then they are a no no good luck!

If you get 5 leleupis, when they pair up, you'll have to get rid of the other two. Leleupis are easy to keep, and nice fish, but a pair won't let other leleupis around them.

You could go with a dwarf julie (dickfeldi, ornatus or transcriptus or a larger shell dweller like signatus or possibly brevis, too.

A trio of altolamprologus compressiceps or a. calvus would work, too.
