	40g for discus ???
Alfie Hobbyist Posts: 79 Kudos: 264 Votes: 1 Registered: 31-May-2004	Would a 40 ukg be ok to keep discus in? if so how may I have just been given a free tank which needs some tlc but if its ok might consider discus if its big enough for them. Would be a while before the tanks houseable for anything so any adivce would be appriciated.

Clown_Loach_Kid Fish Addict Posts: 682 Kudos: 1043 Votes: 34 Registered: 23-Jan-2004	ok so firstly .......... discus need 10g per discus for that tank i would have: 6 juvie discus 6 - 8 tetra 6 - 8 cories 2 ottos or a BN with good filtration that would be possible ..... but whn the discus pair up ....... u would ahve to sell the rest of the discus and just keep 2 - 3 in there 6x2x2 - Firemouth and Oscar Tank 30+ royal pythons. Back in the game after 4 years out ..

amilner Big Fish Posts: 429 Kudos: 654 Votes: 0 Registered: 05-Jul-2004	Discus are shoaling fish and therefore need a few of them to maintain top quality. If you keep them in a small tank and have 1 or 2, they will shy away and not show their true potential.
