Well, you could have two pairs of blue acaras, multiple pairs of dwarf cichlids, or you could have a shell-dweller tank. It depends on what you like.

Well, I don't have access to shellies, and i don't trust mail order, so do you think a pair of keyholes, pair of kribs, and a pair of rams would work? And what about bottom dwellers?

Rams, unlike most cichlids, prefer slightly acidic water. I don't know if it would do well in that setup...

EDIT: nvm, I see the other fishes also would do fine in slightly acidic water.

The fish that you mention should all work well together. I don't really see a need for bottom dwellers, as the cichlids you have selected all hang around the bottom anyways. I'd go for a large school of tetras, since they won't bother the cichlids, and can be used as dither fish.

what sort of rams are you going to get? keyholes and rams can be very shy and you should have some kind of dither fish in there like black neons or cardinals. and as for bottom feeders i'd get kuhlis, moth cats/hara haras and banjos. but if those fish aren't your type go for a school of corys

well emperors don't really shoal and males can be quite aggresive to each other at times. if you wanted emperors i'd get 1m/2f and then a school of 8 other tetras.

Nope, they are unlike like most other tetras in that they are not schooling fish.

If you do go with dwarf cichlids, then there are many other types of tetras that would do well in that setup. Rummynose tetras look very beautiful, as do Cochus blue tetras, cardinals, lemons, etc. Check out some tetras at your lfs or online, and see which ones appeal to you.

if you plan on getting dwarfs i would say get a pair of bolivan rams and 3 or 4 keyholes and no kribs there too aggressive for the keyholes. you could get a couple of angels if you didn't get any nipping tetras

You'd have room for a pair of angelfish, and a school of tetras. You might be able to fit two pairs of angels, but I wouldn't push it. Just one pair would be fine.

sorry for barging in, but I don't think it's necessary to create a new thread for this question:

How many emperors could I put in my 90 gal?
