IF you wanted NO OTHER FISH you could try a mated pair ina 55 - people will shout up and down that this is bad blah blah blah, but 55s are used to breed demps all the time.... If you get a pair young and they happen to get along, they can live a long, fruitful life and spawn many, many times... you could also try a green terror in a tank this size, but you may end up with a fish so mean he/she willnever allow a tank mate....

Like I said I wasnt sure about an Oscar. A friend of mine has had a red devil female in a 55g tank for 8 years now with no ill effects. It is about 9 inches long. He keeps her with Convicts and a green terror. I know overstocked, but I didnt think the red devil was unsuitable to this tank.
