I would like to stcok my 55g with some ca or sa cichlids. I would like to breed them so what would be a good cichlid? Something other than convicts and firemouths.

Pair of either: Blue Acara, Severums, Salvinis, Jack Dempseys (pushing the stocking limit), Green terror (also pushign it), soem of the Eartheaters (Geophagus), some Golden Dwarf Acaras, Dwarf cichlids, etc.

Brybenn, none of the cichlids you mentionned are New World (South American or Central American), But for Africans, you could also go with a mbuna setup.

Rainbow cichlids are also a good choice. They are actually fairly peaceful for CA's.
