well, since i'm gonna be getting a 125 for the new worlds that are now in the 55, i'm gonna have a 55 sitting around, and i'm not quite sure what to do with it, so i've narrowed it down to two options,
Tanganyika Bio-tope

6 Ink Fin Calvus
4 Julie Dickfeldi
8 Paracyps
4-6 Synodonti Petricola

South American Bio-tope

2-3 school of different kinds of corys, or 1 large school of corys
10 Neons or Cards
2 Tapajós

How about malawi? You could have 1 "wet pet" malawi eye-biter.

South Americansince you don't have mbuna

1 big school of Corydora hasbrosus:%) (15-20)
1 school of neons or cardinals (25-30)

And that is ityou will laugh yourself crazy over the hasbrosus, and the neons in a school that size are totally awesome to watch

Don't forget your plants and drift wood, and I have 1/2 a coconut shell that I got at PetSmart, the little hasbrosus love to attack it for some reason, when they aren't playing in the airbubbles from the airstones you need to also put in:%)

a Tanganyika Bio-tope would be better imo, it seems as if there are too many S.A bio-topes imo

wow!

that's not at all what i was thinking dud, i would more go for 3 seperate rock piles and use texas holy rock on 1 or 2 of them, and granite on the other maybe

but w/ the SA option, i'm gonna be using MH lighting, and i know i'd need CO2 with MH, but i want it nicely planted, the only problem is that the cichlids i'd have, like to dig, i was thinking, putting down a layer of gravel, putting in multiple sections of egg crate, put the plant bulbs and plants beneath the crate, and covering up the crate with more gravel?

good idea?

I'd go with SA cichlids for a planted tank, just my opinion. Use plants you can tie down to rocks and plants that can float, or plants that anchor in really well like swords. Let the plants establish themselves if you can before getting all the cichlids.

I would let your plants have a chance to establish, I would also plant them into mini pots you can find from like a wal mart. I have tryed eggcartons and it didn't work =\ they bashed them up as well.

Try useing the mini pots, even just one I bet you'll be happy.

I hope this helped a bit.
Oh BTW I voted South......I love corys

Voted for: Tanganyika

I have a 55g SA biotope myself, but I say tang because it's less common and not as ho-hum.
